Born in Seattle, Washington, to a Brazilian mother and an American father, Maiara and her family headed back to her mother’s home country when Maiara was just two years old. At age eleven, Maiara headed to Simi Valley, California, where she graduated from Royal High School and started pursuing an acting career. Her first credits were in Unfabulous (2005) and Lullabye Before I Wake (2008). In 2015, Maiara appeared in the horror flick VANish, which follows a trio of amateurs who accidentally abduct the wrong woman.
